Summary
Directs financial activities of the organization by performing the following duties:
Directs and coordinates the consolidated monthly financial reporting for the NBS business group in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Reporting monthly group financial performance to local management and corporate office in accordance with established timelines.
Establish policies, procedures and work instructions in order to maintain the system of internal control over financial reporting to assure the consistency and accuracy of the financial reporting system.
Participate in the Company strategic planning process and providing the Company with the relevant input for the development, monitoring and execution of the Strategic Plan. Strategic planning also includes the development and execution of a Hoshin Plan which may include departmental objectives as well as cross functional departmental objectives.
Responsible for the development and management of a departmental budget within the approved budget parameters.
Designated the super user for the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and costing modules of the companys ERP System (Oracle E-Business Suite/SAP). Super users are responsible for implementation, training and enhancement of the Oracle E-Business Suite for their designated super user responsibilities. In addition to these responsibilities, the Corporate Controller is responsible for setting the objectives of the super users that report to this position.
Establishes or recommends to management major corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies for the company.
Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.
Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
Arranges for audits of company's accounts.
Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
Follows ISO 9001 policies and procedures in the performance to the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervises the Assistant Controller and Accounts Receivable Manager.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for the professional development of the department. Recommend training requirements and responsible for keeping the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives and industry requirement.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in Accounting or other relevant discipline. An MBA or CPA license is highly desired.
The individual needs a minimum of 10 years prior experience in managerial accounting in the manufacturing industry. Experience in public accounting with manufacturing auditing clients may substitute for some of the years of experience.
